They Come From Below

Do you have bugs buzzing around your head in your home? It can be pretty irritating, especially if you have no idea where they are coming from. If they look like fruit flies, but you mostly observe them in the bathroom, then you might be dealing with sewer gnats. These pesky little bugs come crawling out of your sewer and can quickly become very prolific. The difference between fruit flies and sewer gnats is that sewer gnats are lighter colored and when you swat at them, they leave a dark powder behind.

Sewer gnats are very difficult to get rid of. They build their nests inside of your pipes, and even flushing the pipe with hot water or bleach doesn’t necessarily kill them.

For the best effect, you need to get the nest removed, and this usually requires a sewer snake or something similar that will mechanically destroy the nest.
