At some point in your life, you have probably stepped in to a bathroom and recognized the smell of mold. Maybe it is in your bathroom? Mold is one of the most common problems that you as a homeowner will be faced with, and out of all places in your home, the bathroom is the most likely place for the problem to pop up. This is because you have a lot of moisture in a small, enclosed area. There are many reasons why a problem might arise. It could be a small leak from a pipe or a drain. These can be difficult to find, especially if they are located inside of one of your walls.

It could also be due to improper ventilation. When you take a hot shower, all that moisture laden air needs to be ventilated outside as soon as possible. This is not possible without a fan that is properly installed with ductwork leading to the outside.

Since mold remediation can be both costly and time consuming, don’t just ignore that smell in your bathroom. Instead, take the time to do research on what might be causing it, and resolve the problem as soon as possible.
